Proper Above Ground Pool Planning

Pool planning is a very important part of your above ground pool purchase. Here are some things to remember when planning for a pool:

Permits/Planning
It is required in most towns to obtain a building permit prior to installing an above ground pool.  All permits are the responsibility of the homeowner prior to installation of the pool. The customer acts as the contractor and the installer is the subcontractor. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to mark the pool site and filter location prior to excavation. The customer must provide ample access for any equipment the installer may need.

Electrical
All motor and pump assemblies need to have proper 115v 20 amp G.F.C.I. service to the filter.  Most of the pumps have a 3’ NEMA L5-20R Plug, commonly known as a twist lock safety plug.  A qualified electrician should perform any electrical work after delivery of the filter to ensure proper receptacle fitting. American Sale does not provide any sort of electrical installation.

Customer Responsibilities
The customer must provide water to fill the pool. If the pool is filled by water trucks, American Sale or its installers will not be responsible for any damage done to the pool wall, liner, or sand bottom.
Back filling all excess dirt/sand that will be left over after installation of the pool. The pool must be back filled to the height of the bottom track.
Assemble all other accessories to the pool such as the ladder or steps.
It also may be necessary to re-tighten hose clamps, and other fittings after the pool has been filled and operating.
The customer is also responsible to place the No Diving sign after installation.

General
If the installer is delayed from installing the swimming pool for any circumstances beyond their control such as, inclement weather on the scheduled day of installation, the installer may have to reschedule the installation date.
If the installer, during installation, finds stumps, rocks, or other material, which requires more installation time, the install will have the right to charge additional fees.
It is very important and recommended that the homeowner be present at the time of installation should any question or problems arise.
